VICTOR — Keota basketball finished its busy week on Thursday with a pair of matchups against HLV.
The Eagle boys win yet another one as they get by the Warriors 77-47. The girls meanwhile, suffer their second loss this week, 59-24.
Keota had no trouble with HLV on the boys’ side. The Eagles jumped out to a 25-5 lead after one and the Warriors could never get back into it.
It was close the rest of the way per quarter scoring, but the first quarter deficit was too much. Keota outscored HLV 20-18, 21-18 and 11-6 in the next three quarters.
Sawyer Stout led the way with 24 points. Tanner Waterhouse finished with 14 and Cole Kindred added 11 points and 10 assists.
The Eagles stay a perfect 10-0 with the win.
For the Keota girls, it was a close one after the opening frame, but HLV closed strong.
The Eagles found themselves down just two after one, 10-8, but the Warriors topped them 16-8 in the second to make it 26-16 at the break.
HLV only extended its lead from then on out. The Warriors gave up just eight points in the second half, while dropping in 33 on their own.
With the loss, Keota drops to 1-9.
