Keota defeats Montezuma golfers
Mid-Prairie battles Tipton in boys, girls meets

KEOTA — Keota edged Montezuma in boys golf 173-178 Monday in a home meet.
Meet medalists Luke Hammen for Keota and Maguire DeJong for Montezuma both posted a score of 41 with five pars on their score cards.
Colten Clarahan shot a 43 for the Eagles and teammates Cole Kindred carded a 44 with Max Johnson at 45.
Mid-Prairie loses road, home meets
KALONA — Tipton defeated Mid-Prairie’s girls 238-248. Elliott Debler posted a 60 for Mid-Prairie’s girls with Madelyn Bender and Madi Davidson both at 62. Gabi Robertson and Alexa Huber each shot 64. Bender had a par on the par-3 second hole.
TIPTON — Tipton’s 163 and Monticello’s 158 outscored the Golden Hawk boys with 202, but Dominic McCain shot 2-over-par 38 and was runner-up medalist. His round was highlighted with a 20-foot putt for an eagle-3 on the par-5 sixth hole. Drew Schlabaugh shot 54, Warren Scarff and Aiden Bush each had a 55.
