Keota softball team loses in first round of postseason
The Keota softball team ended their postseason run with a loss at Winfield-Mt. Union Monday, July 3, by a 1-12 final score.
The first run of the game came in the first inning when WMU put up a run to get on the board. They added two more in the third to have a 3-0 lead.

The Keota softball team ended their postseason run with a loss at Winfield-Mt. Union Monday, July 3, by a 1-12 final score.
The first run of the game came in the first inning when WMU put up a run to get on the board. They added two more in the third to have a 3-0 lead.
Keota scored their lone run in the top of the fourth when Aaliyah Heldman crossed the plate on an RBI by Lexi Purkeypile.
WMU secured their victory in the bottom of the fourth as they scored a total of nine runs to get the win, moving one step closer to playing at the state tournament. The Eagles only lost one to graduation as Mallory Woltering was the lone senior.
Purkeypile took the loss for Keota, giving up the 12 runs on seven hits while walking 10 in the game.
Keota ends their season with a 0-18 record.
