Keota continued its outstanding start to the 2025-26 season Tuesday night. The Eagles improved to 5-0 and continue to emerge as one of the area’s strongest small school teams.
Elsewhere, Highland and Hillcrest Academy picked up victories against Southeast Iowa Super Conference North opposition. WACO, Van Buren County and Cardinal were also in action.

Keota 36, Colfax-Mingo 28
The Eagles navigated to their fifth win of the season behind 16 points from Cameron Haifley. The sophomore ranks No. 2 in the South Iowa Cedar League in scoring at 19.6 points per game.
Hillcrest Academy 51, Winfield-Mt. Union 47
The Ravens outscored the Wolves 15-13 in the fourth quarter to hang on to a four-point win. Hillcrest improved to 3-2. W-MU is 1-4.
Highland 53, Columbus 35
Highland breezed to 5-1 on the season behind 26 points from Kamryn Fink. Katelyn Thomann chipped in 14.
Isabel Rendon and Ellie Sanders finished in double figures for Columbus with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
West Burlington 51, Van Buren County 46
The Warriors and Falcons each scored 15 points in the first quarter and 14 in the second. But WBND narrowly won the final two frames, outscoring VBC 22-17 in the second half.
Louisa-Muscatine 45, WACO 32
The Warriors are still searching for their first win after a 13-point defeat to the Falcons.
Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont 57, Cardinal 34
The Comets outscored EBF 15-10 in the fourth, but it wasn’t enough to overcome a 16-0 second quarter in favor of the Rockets. Kolbi Saner led the way for Cardinal with 15 points.
