PACKWOOD — In the 2022 volleyball season, the Keota volleyball team won just four games. Four games into 2023, the Eagles have matched that total.
Keota took down Pekin in a non-conference game on Monday night. The Eagles took the Panthers out 25-16, 27-25 and 25-22.
Pekin showed a lot of fight in the last two games, thanks in part to a nice game by sophomore Katelynn Shultz, who finished the night with six kills. Myah Bainbridge had five kills, and Alex Parsons finished with 18 digs.
Keota came into the night 3-0 after winning their own home tournament one week prior. The Eagles won three-straight three-set games last week, toppling Lone Tree 16-21, 21-10, 16-14, taking out Tri-County 22-25, 25-7, 25-11, and beating Hillcrest Academy 13-21, 21-18, 15-11.
Pekin, on the other hand, fell to 0-4 after Monday’s loss.
