KEOTA — Mackenzie Jackson and Taylor Kindred were honored at Keota’s Senior Night Thursday.
The Eagles volleyball team “showed up and fought hard,” Keota head coach Debra Swantz said. “The girls moved well, defense was better, and they talked, a lot. They were much improved from our last five matches and we had great serves by Macie McDonald and Kimi Clarahan.”
The better team did not defeat the visiting Colfax-Mingo Tigerhawks (13-5) as Keota’s record fell to 5-11 in the sweep, 25-19, 25-23, 25-11.
Jackson produced five kills, four digs, two blocks and an ace while Kindred contributed seven kills and two blocks. Macie McDonald had 12 digs and 10 assists while Cassie Swantz and Clarahan combined for 29 digs.
Tuesday in Lone Tree, Keota played three matches, falling to the hosts 25-19, 22-25, 15-12, WACO 21-11, 21-11 and Cardinal 21-5, 23-25, 15-11.
