Keota’s Clarahan fans 10 in one-hitter

The Keota Eagles got a road South Iowa Cedar League baseball win Wednesday behind Colten Clarahan's pitching.
Clarahan had 10 strikeouts and no walks while allowing a single hit in the five-inning vistory.
Clarahan helped his cause with a double, a single and two runs batted in.
Sam Sieren and Bryce Greiner also had two hits apiece.
The Eagles are 11-5 and host Highland Wednesday.
Mid-Prairie 8, Benton 4
The Golden Hawks scored four runs in the sixth inning to break a tie and get a home nonconference win Friday to improve to 12-8.
Aidan Rath blasted a home run, a double and a single in his three at-bats. Monte Slabaugh had a double and a single. Vinny Bowlin pitched the final two innings for the win.
Mid-Prairie hosts Class 2A's No. 1 and River Valley Conference opponent Wilton Tuesday.
West Branch 10, Highland 6
The Huskies went through four pitchers in a nonconference road loss Friday.
Bill Laughlin was 2 for 2 at the plate with a double.
The Huskies host Durant today.
Mid-Prairie softball drops 3
The Golden Hawks lost Friday, 4-1 at Cascade.
Saturday in a home tournament, they fell 12-2 to West Burlington Notre Dame and 16-6 to Dubuque Hempstead.
They host No. 7 Wilton Tuesday.
