Keota’s Clarahan signs with SCC baseball

KEOTA — Colten Clarahan of Keota made his college baseball decision this week, signing with the Blackhawks of Southeastern Community College.
SCC got themselves one heck of a player.
Clarahan has been a stellar player for the Eagles over the past three years and his senior season has just begun.
In his junior season, Clarahan was a stellar at the plate. He led the team in batting average (.417), minimum five at bats. He also led in hits (30), singles (23), triples (3), and RBI’s (32).
On the mound, Clarahan shines.
In 11 games in 2021, he tallied a 7-1 record. The 205 opponents he faced had a batting average of just .068. Clarahan allowed just 14 hits, 14 runs and accumulated 113 total strikeouts for an earned run average of 1.26.
In his five games this season, Clarahan is batting .583 at the plate. On the mound, he’s pitched 13.1 innings and struck out 31. He’s also already stolen six bases.
As for SCC, the Blackhawks finished their 2022 campaign with an overall record of 42-21. In the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference SCC finished with a 20-13 record.
The Blackhawks ended their season with a loss in the Region XI Championship to Kirkwood Community College.
