Keota’s Schulte, Sprouse recognized by conference

Keota's volleyball season saw two of its players, both seniors, recognized by the South Iowa Cedar League.

Keota won as many games this season as the last three years combined.

Jillian Schulte put up 140 assists for an average of 2.12 per set to lead the Eagles in that category. She got to 128 digs for an average of 1.94 a set. She had five block assists and three solo blocks to lead the Eagles in total blocks. She had 31 kills. She had 204 serves with 187 successful for .917 success rate. Her 23 aces led the eagles.

Addison Sprouse put down 61 kills for an average of .92 kills per set. She served 206 times successfully in 223 attempts for a .924 serve efficiency. She landed 21 aces. She led the Eagles in digs with 235 for an average of 3.56 per set.

League champion Montezuma made it to the Class 1A state tournament, but lost in the first round.
