Mt. Pleasant’s Kenna Lamm capped off her senior volleyball season with the Southeast Conference’s highest individual honor: the Player of the Year award.
Lamm follows in the footsteps of older sister Karsyn, who was a co-MVP last season. It’s Kenna’s second-straight appearance on the first team.
Lamm finished the year with 317 kills, far and away the leader in the SEC. She was also third in kill efficiency with a mark of .188.
Lamm was second in the conference with 265 serve successes and finished second on the team with 25 aces.
Lamm was joined on the All-SEC first team by senior teammates Ralyn and Regan Seberg. The Panther twins were a huge part of the Panthers’ conference championship this season.
Ralyn had another big year as Mt. Pleasant’s starting setter. She finished second in the SEC in assists, with 454, and also helped the back line with 240 digs this season.
Ralyn was also one of the best servers in Southeast Iowa. She led the conference with 350 serve successes and finished the year with an SEC-leading 96.2 percent mark. She led Mt. Pleasant with 26 aces on the year.
Regan Seberg served as the Panthers’ libero, and she was one of the best defenders around.
Regan finished the year with 472 digs, almost 150 more than second place in the conference (Fort Madison’s Madison Pirri, 324).
Like her sister, Regan was also one of the Panthers’ top servers. She finished with 15 aces on the year, fourth-best on the team.
The only other Union area first-teamer was Fairfield libero Kiya Robertson. The Trojan junior led the back line at FHS all year.
Robertson finished third in the SEC with 286 digs. She led the Trojans in digs by over 140.
Robertson was also one of the best servers in the conference. She had a 90 percent serve efficiency and finished seventh in the SEC with 33 aces.
Fairfield led the area in All-SEC second team names. The Trojans placed three on that squad; sophomore hitter Macy Rayburn, sophomore setter Maddie Jones and senior hitter Anna Dunlap.
Washington had one player named to the SEC second team. Junior hitter Alex Murphy represented the squad.
Each team was also able to elect two players as honorable mentions. Fairfield chose sophomores Maya Lane and Maggie Rayburn. Mt. Pleasant had senior Lydia Ebeling and junior Tristian Shull honored, and Washington’s honorees were senior Ella Leyden and junior Kenializ Espinoza.
