Lane sinks Osky in Fairfield boys’ opener
Fairfield guard hits game-winner, Weaton hits 1,000 points in boys’ game, girls fall

OSKALOOSA — Fairfield guard JJ Lane knocked down the game-winning shot in the final six seconds as the Trojan boys’ basketball team edged Oskaloosa 65-63 in its first game of the season.
The Trojan boys helped Fairfield get revenge on a 57-29 loss in the girls’ game.
Lane’s game-winner capped off a comeback win for the Trojans. Fairfield’s defense got off to a slow start, as Oskaloosa scored 22 points in the first quarter to take a 22-16 lead, but the Trojans came clawing back after that.
Fairfield had the game within one point, at 34-33 at halftime. The two teams were tied 49-49 in the third.
Lane ended the game with 25 points and six assists in the win. Max Weaton put up 23 points, 13 rebounds and three blocked shots. Weaton also went over 1,000 career points in the win.
Tate Allens cored nine points in the win. Ryan Higgins finished with six points, and Sam Weaton scored two.
