JOHNSTON — Fairfield sophomore Willow Larsen is on her way back to the State swimming meet.
Larsen finished fifth at the 100-yard backstroke in the regional meet at Johnston on Saturday. Larsen hit the wall at just over one minute and one second, finishing in 1:01.13, for fifth.
Larsen was one of seven swimmers to make it in the backstroke from the Johnston. She was the 25th-best qualifier in the backstroke. Iowa City West’s Scarlet Martin, the current state record holder, had the top time, at 55.76 seconds.
