Last week in bowling: Washington competes in Sigourney, MP swept by Keokuk

Both the Washington and Mt. Pleasant bowling teams competed toward the end of last week. Washington was at the Savage Duals in Sigourney and Mt. Pleasant hosted Keokuk in a Southeast Conference clash.
In Sigourney on Wednesday he Demons finished third in the girls’ tournament, scoring 1,181 pins. The boys finished fourth, at 1,435.
The Washington girls were led by Brittany Diveney, who shot 231 on the day to finish 10th. Emma Chenoweth was right behind her, with a 224, and Kylin Williams bowled a 221. Emma Loeffler finished the day at 126.
The Washington boys were paced by Caleb Zieglowsky, who finished fourth overall with a 374. Quintyn Garibay bowled a 226. Cooper Zahs ended at 203, and Gabriel Castillo finished at 201.
Keokuk beat Mt. Pleasant 2,672-2,270 in the girls’ portion of Thursday’s showdown in Mt. Pleasant. The Panther boys fell to the Chiefs 2,755-2,453.
The Mt. Pleasant girls were paced by a big game from Addison McGehearty. She shot a 369, the second-best score of the day. Bethany Drury shot a 332. Abby Anderson rolled a 319. Kylie Alldredge bowled 271. Airianna Taylor finished at 237, and Danielle Muhs rolled a 207.
The Panther boys also had a second-place individual finish, as Alec Payne shot a 410. Henry Pforts was the second Panther on the scoreboard, with a 325. Xachary Lablanc shot 324. Jonathan Fortin finished at 316. Christian Bracht-Wagner shot 283, and Joseph Rheinschmidt finished at 250.
Both Mt. Pleasant and Washington were in action on Monday. The Panthers traveled to Fairfield, while the Demons are at Louisa-Muscatine. As of press times, those meets are not finished.
