The sixth rankings released Thursday by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union had some movement for Union area teams and teams in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference, prompted by finishes in the SEISC tournament.
Van Buren, who was ranked fourth, lost to then-sixth-ranked Mediapolis in the tourney final. Unbeaten Mediapolis moved up to fifth in the Class 2A poll and Van Buren dropped to seventh.
New London, which lost in the first round of the tourney finals after advancing from pool play, remained at No. 9 in Class 1A, but Holy Trinity jumped two spots to No. 8 after winning their pool and making the semifinals.
River Valley conference members West Liberty and Tipton hold down the No. 2 and No. 3 spots, respectively, in the Class 3A poll.
Southeast Conference member and regular season champion of the league in its first year of joining, Burlington held the No. 15 spot in Class 4A for the second consecutive week.
