Lightning suspends area softball
Play was suspended at both the Cardinal and Pekin home softball games Tuesday because of strong thunderstorms.
In Eldon, Cardinal led Harmony 11-0 at the start of the third inning when play was stopped.
In Packwood, the Panthers trailed Columbus 7-6 when lightning suspended play in the top of the third inning.
Both teams plan to complete their games later this season.
