Local track teams converge on Davis County

The Fairfield boys' track team along with both the ladies and gentlemen from Pekin, Cardinal and Van Buren descended on Davis County Tuesday night for the Dennis Anderson co-ed relays.
'Our distance crew had a nice night,” said Trojan boys' leader Brian Dunlap. 'We ran five guys in the 1600 and they all ran well on a long cold night. [Dalton] Rippey and [Mark] Diers continued to run well. They were both a part of our runner up relays.”

100 Meter Dash
Grace Davidson of Van Buren finished second in 14.02 with teammate Megan Heisel third in 14.31. Cardinal's Rachel Lewman and Madison Cloke finished 7-8 with times of 14.91 and 15.05, respectively, and Pekin's Kerrigan Pope was 11th in 15.46 with fellow Panther Taylor Parmenter 13th in 16.14.
200 Meter Dash
Madison Bartholomew of Van Buren finished second with a time of 29.03 with teammate Chloe Davidson fifth in 30.18. Other local finishers were Hunter Lock who was 10th in 31.81, Allisyn Cloke of Cardinal who was 13th in 33.08, Anna Mullikin of Cardinal in 33.31 and Pekin's Taylor Parmenter who was 16th in 33.94.
400 Meter Dash
Isabel Manning of Van Buren was third in 1:05.65 with Sarah Eubanks of Pekin (1:08.29), Cari Duwa of Pekin (1:09.17), Allison Sloan of Cardinal (1:09.95), Codi Welch of Van Buren (1:11.46) and Nancy Vass of Cardinal (1:12.76) all running well and finishing 5th, 6th, 8th, 9th and 11th, respectively.
800 Meter Run
The top local runner was Sydney Pickrell of Cardinal of was second in 2:37.63. The Comets Alexia McClure was fourth in 2:40.03 followed by Maddie Black of Pekin (2:41.90) in fifth, Faith Neeley of Van Buren (2:44.19) in seventh, Kylee Bass of Van Buren in (2:47.58) eighth and Mia Clark of Pekin (2:58.69) in ninth.
1500 Meter Run
The Panthers finished 1-2 with Lauren Derscheid crossing first in 5:35.44, followed by teammate Emily Laumeyer in 5:39.39. Also finishing in the top 10 were fifth place Audrey Smith (5:52.25) and ninth place Anna Neeley (6:19.19) of Van Buren and Katelyn McDaniel of Cardinal (6:31.21) who finished just ahead of her 11th place teammate Araceli Zaragoza-Tapetillo (6:32.14).
3000 Meter Run
Pekin's Derscheid won the other long race as well with a time of 12:11.16, followed by teammate Mia Clark (13:27.25) who was third, with Hannah Charbonneau (15:46.89) and Taija Hewett of Van Buren (17:47.29) finishing sixth and eighth, respectively.
100 Meter Hurdles
Gracie Baetsle of Pekin was third in 18.35, followed by Lexi Jirak (18.96) and Cameron Younker (19.78) of Van Buren who were fourth and sixth, respectively, Kalee Haile of Pekin (20.88) ninth, Lizzey Lett of Cardinal (21.09) 10th and Shannah Jones of Cardinal (21.35) 12th.
400 Meter Hurdles
Pekin's Baetsle and Haile finished third and fifth, respectively, with times of 1:19.15 and 1:27.79. Jirak from Van Buren (1:27.96) and her teammate Anna Beebe were 6-7th with the latter clocking in at 1:28.95.
4x100 Meter Relay
Van Buren was first in 53.78 with Pekin third (56.66) and Cardinal (59.23) fifth.
4x100 Meter Relay
The Warriors were fourth in 1:12.49 with Cardinal fifth in 1:12.52.
4x200 Meter Relay
Van Buren was first with a time of 1:56.61 with Pekin second (2:02.07) and Cardinal (2:21.53) ninth.
4x400 Meter Relay
Pekin was first with a time of 4:34.53 with the Comets (4:47.86) third and the Warriors (4:59.48) sixth.
4x800 Meter Relay
Pekin was first in 10:36.89 with Van Buren (11:35.30) second and Cardinal (12:41.43) fifth.
800 Sprint Medley
First place went to Pekin with a time of 2:03.19, followed by sixth place Van Buren (2:16.69) and seventh place Cardinal (2:17.33).
Distance Medley
The Panthers were first again in 4:42.12 with the Warriors eighth with a time of 6:02.50.
4x100 Meter Shuttle Hurdle
Van Buren edged Pekin for second with a time of 1:20.32 while the Panthers were third in 1:22.30.
High Jump
Ellie Ledger was the top local high jumper with a leap of 4-10.00 that earned her second place, followed by third place Ella Jirak (4-08.00) of Van Buren and fifth place Madison Cloke (4-08.00) of Cardinal.
Long Jump
Van Buren's Grace Davidson won the long jump with a distance of 15-07.75, followed by fourth place teammate Lexi Jirak (14-01.00) and Pekin's Lily Fariss and Michayne Weber who were 11th and 12th, respectively, with totals of 12-04.25 and 12-01.00.
Shot Put
Katie Jones (32-06.00) of Pekin was second, followed by Pekin's Kerrigan Pope (29-04.25) in fourth, seventh place Emi Zook (27-11.00) of Pekin, 11th place Libby Caston (24-07.50) of Van Buren, 13th place Warrior Kalyn Tuttle (23-08.50), 14th Alexandra Herrera (23-02.50) of Cardinal and teammate Madison Guiter (20-10.50) of Cardinal.
