The Southeast Iowa Super Conference girls basketball season is set to tipoff in a few short weeks. The six Union area sides in the North division and a pair of SEISC South programs are chasing glory in 2025-26.
Columbus topped the SEISC North in 2024-25 with a 14-2 conference record. Four of the Wildcats top five scorers from last season graduated, including leading scorer and SEISC North Player of the Year Lily Coil.
Highland was the next best Union side in the SEISC North with a third place finish at 11-5 in the division. WACO also hit double digit wins in conference play last year with 10.
Hillcrest Academy and Pekin finished behind the Huskies and Warriors in fifth and sixth place. The Ravens went .500 in SEISC North play, while Pekin won five conference games. Winfield-Mt. Union is coming off a three-win season in conference play.
Four of the division’s top five scorers are eligible to return, including Highland’s Kamryn Fink (16 ppg), Hillcrest’s Claire Withrow (14.9 ppg) and WACO’s Brenna Graber (14.4 ppg). Coil (15.3 ppg) is the lone graduated senior on the list.
In the south, Van Buren County will look to build off of a fifth place finish in the division, while New London eyes a rebound after it failed to win a conference game in 2024-25. Mediapolis topped the SEISC South with a perfect 14-0 mark in conference play.
