Loving signs with Buena Vista

Mt. Pleasant senior Clayton Loving will be heading west. Loving signed his letter of intent ot attend and play football and Buena Vista University in Storm Lake on Friday morning.

Loving says a family connection helped push him toward Storm Lake.

'I guess it started with my family,” Loving says. 'My mom works for them, so it was kind of easy for them to see me. They basically were the first college to get to me.”

Loving says he went to visit the college in November, saying the atmosphere there reminded him of his hometown.

'I went to look at Wartburg too, but I like Buena Vista because it felt more like home,” Loving said. 'It's the same size as Mt. Pleasant and the campus is small to get around.”

Loving will be studying sports business when he gets to college. He'll be joining a football team that won its season opener but ended the season 1-9.

Loving says the Panther coaches helped him get to the level he needed to be at to play in college.
