New London senior Keontae Luckett announced via Twitter on Sunday that he will be attending the University of Iowa and joining the football team.
Luckett, who helped lead New London to its first-ever state title in the fall, will join the program as a proffered walk-on.
In the post, Luckett thanked the New London community for their support of his career, specifically mentioning mother Monique, and also Lindsay and Bryant Porter.
'Without a doubt, I consider all of you family,” Luckett said in his post.
The Tiger senior running back went off for 1,598 yards on the ground and 26 touchdowns this season. He also scored three times through the air, gaining 347 yards on 25 catches.
Luckett was also a top defensive player for the Tigers. He was third on the squad with 86 tackles. Luckett has four interceptions on the year, two of which went back for scores, and one fumble recovery. He also returned one kick off back for a touchdown.
Luckett will be studying engineering at Iowa next year, and is one of a handful of Iowa prep stars who have committed to the Hawkeyes this winter.
