Magnani sinks game-winner for Cornell

MT. VERNON - Former Mt. Pleasant basketball player Jordan Magnani hit the game-winner in Cornell College's conference home game against Lake Forest College on Saturday.
Magnani, a 2018 graduate who helped the Panthers make the state basketball tournament in both 2017 and 2018, hit the go-ahead shot with just 18 seconds left to put the Rams up 70-68.
On the ensuing Lake Forest possession, Magnani came away with a steal on the defensive end to put the final nail in the coffin.
Magnani finished the game with 17 points and three steals. He was 7-15 from the field and 3-6 from three-point land in the win.
Cornell College is now 6-5 overall and 1-3 in the Midwest Conference.
