Maharishi girls mop Centerville
Pioneer tennis sweeps Redettes to start season 1-0

CENTERVILLE — The Maharishi tennis team went into Centerville and blasted the hosting Redettes on Monday night, winning every match in a 9-0 sweep.
The pioneers cruised through singles, winning five of the six matches by six points or more. Returning state qualifier Lily Fenton led the way, winning the No. 1 singles match 8-2.
Maharishi won the first four matches by the score of 8-2. Along with Fenton, Ishita Mukadam won the No. 2 match, Vaisnavi Mohanraj won the No. 3 mathc, and Isabella Castle took the No. 4 match.
Saraswati Quevedo-Valls took the No. 5 singles match 8-5, the closest match of the night. Daira Valls Blazquez rolled 8-0 in the No. 6 match.
Maharishi continued its march to victory in the doubles matches, taking every one by five points or more. Fenton and Mukadam won the No. 1 match 8-2 to start things off.
In other doubles matches, Mohanraj and Castle cruised to a 7-2 victory in the No. 2 matchup, and Quevedo-Valls and Blazquez skated to an 8-3 victory in the No. 3 match.
Maharishi (1-0) will play at Albia on April 18.
