Maharishi girls tennis defeats Mt. Pleasant
Pioneers give up just one set in fourth straight victory

FAIRFIELD — Maharishi girls tennis continues to play some great ball, picking up their fourth straight victory with a win over Mt. Pleasant on Tuesday.
The Pioneers defeated the Panthers 8-1.
For the Panthers, the one winner in the competition was Audrey Richmond in the No. 6 match. Richmond defeated the Pioneer’s Mariia Minieieval 8-0.
Other than Richmond, the Panthers only grabbed two other sets from the Pioneers in singles.
Ellie Situmeang was defeated by Ishita Mukadam 8-0 in the No. 1 match.
In the No. 2 match, Mt. Pleasant’s Mary Kate Peterson fell to Poojita Mukadam 8-0 as well.
Victoria Smith was bested by the Pioneers Sara Valls 8-0 in the No. 3 bout.
Eva Rounceville stole two sets from Daira Valls, but the match ended with Valls on top 8-2.
Mt. Pleasant’s Bethany Drury was downed 8-0 by Maharishi’s Bella Castle in the No. 5 match.
In doubles, Situmeang and Rounceville were defeated by Ishita Mukadam and Poojita Mukadam 8-0.
Peterson and Smith fell in the No. 2 match by Sara Valls and Daira Valls.
In the No. 3 match, Drury and Richmond came up short to Castle and Minieieval 8-2.
Mt. Pleasant drops to 0-7 on the season, while Maharishi improves to 4-0.
The Panthers will be back in action on Thursday against Keokuk. Maharishi will play Fairfield on Thursday as well.
