Maharishi girls tennis mops up Keokuk

FAIRFIELD — It was all Maharishi when the Pioneer girls tennis team hosted Keokuk at Punj Tennis Center on Monday. Maharishi blasted Keokuk 8-1.
The Pioneers swept the singles matches, although there were a couple of nail-biters, including at No. 1, where Lily Fenton outlasted her opponent 8-6. Ishita Mukadam had a much easier time in the No. 2 match, winning 8-0.
Vaisnavil Mohanran took the No. 3 match 8-5. Saraswati Quevedo-Valls won the No. 4 match 8-1. Yufan (Evelyn) Ding won 8-6 in the No. 5 match, and No. 6 Isabelle Castle took her match 8-3.
Maharishi won two of three doubles matches. Fenton and Mukadam won the No. 1 match 8-2, and Saraswati and Valis won a battle in the No. 2 match, taking it 9-8.
Castle and Daira Valls Blazquez nearly finished off a complete sweep in the No. 3 match, but fell 9-8.
