Maharishi tennis nearly sweeps Davis County

FAIRFIELD — Maharishi boys tennis had no problem against Davis County on Tuesday afternoon.

The Pioneers gave up just one match out of the nine as they picked up their second straight victory, 8-1.

For Maharishi, it was a complete sweep through the individual matches.

Ruimin Luo was a winner 10-2 over Davis County’s Dean Bragg.

Jayanta Wegman battled to a 11-9 victory in the No. 2 match. Wegman downed the Mustang’s Jaxson Lee.

Polo Altynski-Ross picked up another win for the Pioneers over Luke Farley 10-7.

Han (Xiaohan) Wang was a winner in the No. 4 match 10-6 over Cayler Wuthrich.

In the No. 5 match, Gabriel “Chacho” Roesler won 10-5 against Davis County’s Gavin Klaus.

Mekhi Kahiu capped off the Pioneers singles matches with a win over Cason Young 10-8.

In doubles, Luo and Wegman defeated Bragg and Wuthrich 10-1.

Roesler and Wang were winners 10-7 over Farley and Klaus.

Maharishi’s one loss came in the No. 3 doubles bout as Kahiu and Altynski-Ross were bested by Young and Wuthrich 10-7.
