Memorial services are Saturday at Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, Ill.

Mrs. Bergland was born Sept. 23, 1940, the daughter of Charles E. and Dorothy Hull Newland of Batavia. She married Gary Bergland, March 4, 1962.
She attended Des Moines No. 3 school and graduated eighth grade with the highest grades of the country schools in Jefferson County.
She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1959 and attended Iowa State University.
Survivors include her husband Gary; her daughter, Malia Beal and spouse Ben, of Chicago; two grandchildren; and two sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
