The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference released its All-Conference women's basketball list during the roller coaster month of March, and two Iowa Wesleyan players made the list.
The Tigers, who finished in a tie for seventh in the conference, were honored with two third-team names, senior Allie Massner and junior Morgan McCrea.
Massner, a four-year player at IW, saved her best season for last. She finished in a tie for third place in SLIAC scoring, putting up 15.7 points per game. She was second in the conference in 3-point makes, hitting 72 trifectas on the year, and fourth in 3-point percentage, hitting 39.1 percent of her tries.
Massner was seemingly always on the court for IW, and the statistics show it. She played 33.4 minutes per game, fifth most in the SLIAC. On a small IW team, Massner had to eat up a lot more boards this year, and did just that by leading the team with 5.4 rebounds per game.
McCrea, a transfer in from Millsaps College, gave the Tiger women a huge bump in the 2019-20 season. She finished sixth in the conference in scoring, putting up 14.2 points per game. She also hit 64 3-pointers on the year, putting her third in the conference in that category.
McCrea was one of the Tigers' primary ballhandlers this season. She finished 10th in the conference with 2.9 assists per game, the second best mark on the team.
IW's Kieley Allen also received an All-SLIAC honor. Allen was one of 10 conference players named to the All-Sportsmanship team.
The SLIAC named Fontbonne University junior Rylee Stafford as conference Player of the Year. She scored 16.5 points per game, second best in the conference, and knocked down 80 3-point shots. Stafford hit 66 of those 3-pointers in conference play, a new SLIAC record.
