‘Meet the Panthers night’ this Friday
Mt. Pleasant fall sports kicks off with annual event
Mt. Pleasant’s annual ‘Meet the Player’ night will be this Friday, Aug. 18. The festivities will begin at 4 p.m. and end just after 8:30 p.m.
The high school volleyball team will kick things off at Mt. Pleasant Community High School at 4 p.m. The rest of the night will take place at Mapleleaf Athletic Complex.
Mt. Pleasant’s athletic booster club will begin serving meals at 6:30 p.m. At 7:15 p.m., the action on the field begins, as players, managers and coaches will be introduced for cross-country, volleyball and football.
At 7:30 p.m., the cheerleaders will be introduced, followed by a performance for the crowd. That will lead into the football scrimmage, which will feature all high school levels.
The freshman and sophomore teams will be the first teams playing, as they will scrimmage at 7:40 p.m. The varsity offense will begin at 8 p.m., with a kicking game run through starting at 8:20 p.m.
Mt. Pleasant’s ‘Meet the Players’ night will take place seven days before the Panthers host Fairfield for the season opener on Aug. 25.
