MT. PLEASANT — It’s that time of year again in Mt. Pleasant.
Mt. Pleasant Community High School will be starting off the new school year, and the athletic sports season with a ‘Meet the Panthers’ day, presented by the Mt. Pleasant Booster Club.
The event will be held at Mapleleaf Athletic Complex, home of the Panther football team. Festivities will be this Tuesday, starting at 6:30 p.m., with booster club announcements.
That will lead into an introduction of all fall sports athletes, which will include girls tennis for the first time.
Cross-country will be up first, followed by the tennis team, football, volleyball and cheerleaders.
There will be a cheerleader performance at approximately 6:50 p.m., leading to an open practice for the Mt. Pleasant high school football team.
Unlike in previous years, the event will not be on a Friday, and will not have a scrimmage game at its finale, but it will still be a chance for Mt. Pleasant fans to get a peak at the new teams.
Note, that while the event doesn’t technically start until 6:30 p.m., the concession stands will open up at 6 p.m.
