?Meet the Panthers? set Friday at Pekin

Pekin basketball fans are invited to ?Meet the Panthers? during Friday?s home contest against IMS at Pekin High School.

In addition to JV and varsity games, several activities are set to take place during the special event.

A sports booster?s tenderloin supper of tenderloin sandwiches, chips, dessert and a drink will be held from 4:30-9 p.m. Tables will be set up for visitors to meet the Pekin players throughout the evening, and Panthers will be signing team posters for sale. A free drawing to win autographed basketballs by the boys? and girls? teams also will be available.

In addition, Pekin?s pep band will be performing, and varsity halftime activities will include the Pekin Dance Team and Pekin cheerleaders leading the UNI Interlude.

JV action is set to begin at 4:30 p.m. Girls varsity will take place around 6 p.m. and boys varsity is tentatively scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
