This coming Saturday will mark the occassion of the fifth-annual Fairfield baseball work auction and scrimmage.
Community members and business owners are invited out for a day of baseball and a chance to contribute to the new dugout and press box projects. Fairfield players will be auctioned off for three hours of work that can include any odd jobs around your home or business that need to be completed.
The scrimmage, which starts at 11 a.m., will also allow people to pledge a dollar amount for different baseball statistics that may happen during the game. For example, an individual could pledge $5 for every strikeout from a Trojan pitcher. Businesses can also sponsor certain inning or even the whole game.
The silent auction will take place during the scrimmage (11 a.m. - 2 p.m.) and players will be available to work the following Saturday (May 23). Once again, all proceeds will benefit the FHS baseball program.
