The same two Union area teams that appeared in The Gazette’s post-Week 5 football poll are back in the rankings again after another week that saw both Mid-Prairie and Pekin pick up victories.
Mid-Prairie rolled at Central Lee, but did fall one spot in The Gazette’s Class 2A poll. Meanwhile, Pekin stays at No. 9 in Class A after an overtime win against North Mahaska.
Both the Golden Hawks and the Panthers have huge games this week. Mid-Prairie hosts Mediapolis and Pekin travels to Danville, with both teams looking to clinch a district title and a playoff spot before the last week of the regular season.
