Mid-Prairie basketball teams lose to Camanche
The Mid-Prairie basketball teams were host to Camanche Friday, Jan. 27, with both teams losing to their guests. The girls fell 46-48 and the boys lost 58-76.
The girls would fall behind by one after the first quarter, 10-11 and would make a comeback in the second quarter going up by one with the score sitting at 24-23 at the half.

The Mid-Prairie basketball teams were host to Camanche Friday, Jan. 27, with both teams losing to their guests. The girls fell 46-48 and the boys lost 58-76.
The girls would fall behind by one after the first quarter, 10-11 and would make a comeback in the second quarter going up by one with the score sitting at 24-23 at the half.
Camanche would come out strong after the break scoring 15, while Mid-Prairie put up eight to fall behind 32-38.
The Golden Hawks would rally in the fourth quarter scoring 12 to Camanche?s six to tie the game at 44 each at the end of regulation.
Mid-Prairie worked on getting the win in the extra frame, but would be unsuccessful as they only scored two to Camanches? four.
Ali Butters led the team in scoring with 15 points, seven rebounds, three assists and one steal.
Addie Rath had a double-double on the night with 11 points and 10 rebounds along with five assists, one steal and one block.
Ireland Hostetler scored six points and had eight rebounds, one assist, four steals and three blocks. Anna Vilovchik had five points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal.
Caitlyn Riggan scored five points and had two rebounds and Shae Becker had four points, six rebounds, two assists and one steal.
The Golden Hawks boys would have a 34-33 lead at the end of the first half in their game before only adding 19 more in the third to Camanche?s 30.
Camanche put up 13 more points in the fourth quarter and held Mid-Prairie back to only scoring five to hand the loss to Mid-Prairie.
Derek Rich led the team in scoring with 11 points. He also had four rebounds. Kyle Miller scored nine points, had eight rebounds, one assist and two blocks.
Tom Butters scored eight points, had four rebounds, two assists and one steal. Caleb Statler also scored eight points and had nine rebounds and three blocks.
Carter Reinier had six points, three rebounds, four assists and two steals. Brad Tornow had six points as well as two rebounds, eight assists and two steals.
Dominic Pickard had five points, one rebound and one steal. Ryan Slaubaugh had three points and one rebound. Cary Schaefer had two points, four rebounds and one assist in the game.
The girls? loss puts them at 12-5 while the boys have a 5-13 record for the season.
