Mid-Prairie boys featured on soccer rankings

It’s been an eventful season on the pitch for the Golden Hawks of Mid-Prairie.

The Golden Hawks cruised through the first of the season, winning nine straight on their way to a 9-0 record.

Prior to Mid-Prairie’s first loss on May 3 against Iowa City Regina, the Golden Hawk were ranked No. 1 in Class 1A by the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association (IAHSSCA).

Now with one week to go until the beginning of the postseason, the Hawks sit at 10-1 and are sitting in 16th and still in the conversation as one of the top teams in the class.

Other Southeast Iowa schools featured on the lists are Burlington Notre Dame and Fort Madison.
