Mid-Prairie boys? golf falls to West Liberty
It was the first meet of the season for a young Mid-Prairie boys? golf team on Monday, and according to the team?s head coach, it was a success.
?I thought the boys played well today,? Mid-Prairie boys? golf head coach Kelby Bender said. ?This was our first golf meet of the season. We are a young and relatively inexperienced team with all freshmen and sophomores playing.?

It was the first meet of the season for a young Mid-Prairie boys? golf team on Monday, and according to the team?s head coach, it was a success.

West Liberty won the two-team meet, posting a 194 ahead of Mid-Prairie?s 216.
The Hawks were led by Seth Mann?s nine-hole score of 50 at the West Liberty Golf and Country Club, followed by Duncan McCain?s 53.
Michael Callahan shot a 54, Sam Bailey and Zach Owens each shot a 59 and Ethan Danner shot a 62 to round out the varsity team.
On the junior varsity side of the meet, Ryan Slaubaugh and Tate Waychoff each shot a 57 to lead the way, while Collin Gingerich finished right behind the pair with a 58.
The Hawk boys will take on Durant in its next meet on Monday, at Wahkonsa Golf Course at 4 p.m.
