Mid-Prairie boys host home invite
The Mid-Prairie boys? golf team hosted their annual invitational on Tuesday, with nine teams coming to play at the Kalona Golf Course.
The Golden Hawks took seventh at their home meet, shooting a 401, while Iowa Mennonite took ninth with a 441.
Mt. Vernon won the event by 51 strokes, carding a team score of 306, which included the top three scores, and six of the top eight scores.

The Golden Hawks took seventh at their home meet, shooting a 401, while Iowa Mennonite took ninth with a 441.
Mt. Vernon won the event by 51 strokes, carding a team score of 306, which included the top three scores, and six of the top eight scores.
Sophomore Collin Gingerich led the way for Mid-Prairie, shooting a 98 with a 47 on the back nine, followed by sophomore Ryan Slaubaugh, who carded a 99 on the day.
Zach Owens finished his day with a 101, while Duncan McCain posted the final counting score with a 106.
Michael Callahan shot a 118, while Ryan Smit shot a 120 for the day.
IMS was led by Drake Brezina?s 104, while Roman Slabach carded a 108 and Caleb Yoder carded a 111.
The counting scores were rounded out by Trevor Leyden?s 118, while Tanner Thrapp scored a 133 and Adrian Gonzales notched a 145.
