Mid-Prairie claims two River Valley duals
The Mid-Prairie wrestling team started out 2016 on a strong note, picking up a pair of conference victories on Monday
night.
The Golden Hawks participated in a conference triangular at Regina, and picked up victories against the host Regals (37-24) and over Tipton (53-15).
Against Tipton, the dual started at 113 pounds, where Duncan McCain opened things up with a 12-2 major decision.

night.
The Golden Hawks participated in a conference triangular at Regina, and picked up victories against the host Regals (37-24) and over Tipton (53-15).
Against Tipton, the dual started at 113 pounds, where Duncan McCain opened things up with a 12-2 major decision.
Mid-Prairie went on to take a 22-0 lead after pin falls by Miles Burrows and David Murray, while Jeremiah Boos won by forfeit.
Mid-Prairie picked up three more wins by forfeit in the dual, while Ethan Danner earned an 11-0 major decision at 160 pounds, Cameron Tolander (182 pounds) picked up a pin fall and Visouth Peterschmidt (195 pounds) earned a 1-0 decision.
Against Regina, Mid-Prairie had three wins by forfeit, with four other Hawks claiming match victories.
Murray claimed a 6-2 decision victory, Brent Foster (145 pounds) claimed a pin fall, Tolander won a 14-6 major decision and Peterschmidt won by fall to give Mid-Prairie the dual win.
Mid-Prairie will look to continue its momentum with a home triangular against West Branch and West Liberty on Thursday.
