Mid-Prairie falls to No. 11 Durant

Mid-Prairie struggled to find its groove on Tuesday night, and that spelled trouble in a Cedar Valley Conference match against No. 11 Durant. The visiting Wildcats swept the Golden Hawks by scores of 25-16, 25-17 and 25-16 inside Tim Grady Gymnasium.

?Tonight was an up and down night of volleyball,? Mid-Prairie head coach Melissa Stumpf said. ?The girls came out a little timid, but quickly found their fight and went with it for the rest of the match. Right now we are struggling with playing aggressively for all 25 points.?

Senior Mallory McArtor, junior Courtney Cayton and sophomore Taylor Kurtz spiked down three kills apiece to lead the Golden Hawks (5-6, 0-2 CVC). Senior Jess Butters added two kills and two blocks. Senior Kari Horesowsky dished out 12 assists and also had 10 digs. Junior Courtney Shalla and sophomore Ashley Sojka added seven and six digs, respectively.
