Mid-Prairie leads Union area

While the sport of wrestling has become more attractive for females to particpate in, it is usually limited to one or two girls at a school going out for the team.
Except, that is, at Mid-Prairie High School.
The Golden Hawks have six girls on the team and have participated in an all-girls meet at Iowa City City High recently.
'We learned lots of lessons and had a lot of fun throughout the night,” Mid-Prairie coach Justin Garvey said of the event.
Other area teams that have female wrestlers are Washington, Fairfield, Mt. Pleasant, WACO, New London, Van Buren, Highland and Cardinal.
