MARION — Mid-Prairie’s softball team was one of the few area schools that did not have weekend games canceled.
The Golden Hawks played in the Linn-Mar tournament Friday and lost 12-0 to Class 5A’s second-ranked Fort Dodge (26-4) and 3-2 to Waverly-Shell Rock (12-15).
Fort Dodge held the Golden Hawks without a hit in the three-inning game. Dakota Mitchell was the only Golden Hawk on the base paths, reaching on an error.
Dawsyn Miller and Sydney Knebel each spent time in the circle for Mid-Prairie (6-25).
Myah Lugar went the distance in the 3-2 loss, allowing five hits, no walks, an earned run and a strikeout.
Dakota Mitchell had the only two Mid-Prairie hits but six bases on balls and an error generated offense for the Hawks. Mitchell and Brittany Kissinger scored a run as Madeline Schrader and Katelyn Schneider notched an RBI each.
