Mid-Prairie names three to All-State volleyball

Mid-Prairie put together a solid 2023 volleyball campaign to say the least.

The Golden Hawks came one game within state for the second straight year after falling in the Class 3A Region 6 Championship.

Mid-Prairie finished with a record of 31-11.

With the release of the 2023 All-State Volleyball teams, three Golden Hawk players are being recognized for their outstanding play.

Those three are junior Dakota Mitchell, who’s on 1st-team, sophomore Jovi Evans, who’s on third-team and sophomore Harper Pacha, who’s on fourth-team.

Mitchell earns the first-team bid after totallying 639 digs from the libero spot. That mark was the most in Class 3A and the third most in the state regardless of class.

She also finished with 55 aces, the second most for Mid-Prairie.

As for Evans, she did a little bit of everything for Mid-Prairie. Evans led the Golden Hawks in assists, kills and aces on the year, tallying 674 assists, 376 kills along with 64 aces. She also finished with 480 digs through 42 matches.

Along with Evans, Pacha was one of the Golden Hawks biggest threats at the net. The sophomore ended with 331 kills, 263 digs and 49 aces through 2023.

All three earned all-district honors as well and the trio will run it back in 2024 to try and help push the Golden Hawks over the hump and into the state tournament.
