Mid-Prairie one win away from quarterfinals
Golden Hawks set to face PCM in 2A second round

MONROE — Mid-Prairie football will face off with PCM on Friday night with a trip to the state quarterfinals on the line.
The Golden Hawks have won four of their last five, topping Northeast last week in round one, 49-18.
Meanwhile, PCM is on a six-game win streak and defeated Interstate 35 in the opening round 42-0.
Mid-Prairie comes in sitting at 5-4, while PCM is 7-2.
The Golden Hawks like to use a little bit of everything in their offensive arsenal.
At quarterback, junior Brady Weber has thrown for 1,462 yards and 20 touchdowns, while completing 61.6% of his passes.
He also adds 211 yards on the ground with four scores.
The Golden Hawks’ biggest threat in the run game is Hudson Ehrenfelt.
The sophomore has 1,178 yards with 12 touchdowns.
On the receiving end of the things, three Golden Hawks can cause big problems.
Senior Dylan Henry has 368 yards with seven touchdowns, Ehrenfelt has 349 yards with three scores and junior Cobi Hershberger enters with 316 yards and three touchdowns.
The next highest is sophomore Kaden Kos with 276 yards receiving and six touchdowns.
Kos is also big on the defensive end has he has 66.5 total tackles with 8.5 tackles for a loss and 4.5 sacks.
Grady Miller leads the Golden Hawks with 10.5 tackles for a loss as well.
Landry Gingerich and Lukin Rediger both have 42 total tackles.
Gingerich, Kos and Rediger each have one fumble recovery, while Landon Sullivan and Henry each have two interceptions.
Much like Mid-Prairie, PCM like to spread the ball in a variety of ways.
For PCM, junior Gavin VanGorp has 1,160 yards passing with 16 touchdowns.
On the ground, junior Adrien Robbins has amassed 1,865 yards and 22 touchdowns.
Senior Griffin Olson lead the way on the receiving end with 532 yards and 11 touchdowns on 25 catches.
Finn Wilson has a team-high 72 tackles. The Mustangs have 15 takeaways this season.
Friday nights game will take place at 7 p.m. with the winner taking on either Union Community or Van Meter.
