Mid-Prairie places 10th at girls state golf

CEDAR FALLS — The Mid-Prairie girls golf team wrapped its season on Friday with a 10th place finish in the Class 2A state tournament at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Falls.
The Golden Hawks finished with 795 total points in the competition.
Individually for Mid-Prairie, Madelyn Bender was the highest placer in the tournament final.
Sumner-Fredericksburg was crowned state champions with a total score of 703. New Hampton (712), Dike-New Hartford (730), Williamsburg (737), Roland-Story (747), Van Meter (757), Treynor (762), Garner-Hayfield-Ventura (782), and Anamosa Senior High School (792) all placed as well.
Bender finished her season with a final score of 192, good enough for 29th.
Madi Davidson followed her teammate, tying for 30th with an 193. Elliott Debler’s two day total was 205 for 44th. Gabi Robetson ended in 45th with 206. Addison English tied for 55th, golfing a 212 and Alexa Huber chipped in 215 tying for 57th.
