Mid-Prairie plays in pro stadium

Mid-Prairie had the privilege of playing at the Clinton River Kings stadium Saturday and even got to play an extra inning before losing to River Valley Conference foe Camanche 4-3.
Camanche led 2-0 after the second inning, but a two-run single by Vinny Bowlin in the fourth inning and a RBI from Keegan Gingerich in the fifth gave Mid-Prairie a 3-2 lead. Camanche scored a run in the seventh to tie the game.
Ashton Bush threw five innings and gave up a single hit while striking out two, but walked five. Hawks teammate Brody Miller also allowed just one hit but took the loss.
The Hawks (14-11, 10-7) play at the same stadium today against Northeast.
Washington 7, Mid-Prairie 4
Friday in Wellman, the Hawks gave up all seven runs to the nonconference visitors in the second inning.
Chris Miller had two RBI while Gingerich and Aidan Rath each had one in the loss. Bowlin gave up four hits and five walks with two strikeouts in the loss.
Cade Hennigan pitched the win with three hits, two earned runs, a walk and five strikeouts in three innings. Chase McDole threw three innings with three hits, a walk and five K's and no runs. Mitchell Driscoll threw an inning and gave up four hits and two runs.
Reece Mayer had a triple and two RBI for Washington. Ethan Patterson had a double and one RBI.
Washington (16-7) plays a doubleheader at Center Point-Urbana today.
Highland 7, Sigourney 5
Tuesday, the Huskies won against the nonconference visitors.
Trey Lasek and Brady Hahn each had two hits in the win. Lasek had a double.
Jordan Sosa had two RBI and pitched 2 1/3 innings for the win.
Highland (11-11) hosts New London Tuesday.
Keota wins 4th straight
The Eagles sandwiched the 4th of July with a home 8-6 win over Highland Wednesday and a 13-11 road win at Moulton-Udell Friday. Both were nonconference games.
Keota trailed 6-0 against Highland, but scored three runs in the fifth inning and five in the sixth.
Colten Clarahan gave up two hits, one walk and had four strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings for the win. Brady Duwa went 3 for 4 with a double and batted in four runs. Carson Sprouse and Austin Waterhouse had two hits apiece.
Keota trailed MU 4-2, 9-3 and 11-4 but put up a combined nine runs in the fifth and sixth innings.
Waterhouse connected on a triple and a home run. Duwa, Bryce Greiner, Justin Moeller, Sam Sieren and Tyler Waterhouse all had two hits apiece. Moeller, Greiner and Duwa each hit a double. Luke Hammen was credited with the victory.
Keota (13-5) hosts Winfield-Mt. Union in a doubleheader today.
