Mid-Prairie routs Central Lee
The No. 14 ranked Mid-Prairie girls? basketball team dominated all four quarters on Wednesday night, and now are eyeing a potential trip the Des Moines.

The No. 14 ranked Mid-Prairie girls? basketball team dominated all four quarters on Wednesday night, and now are eyeing a potential trip the Des Moines.
The Golden Hawks (15-8) won in every aspect of the game in their regional semifinal at Central Lee, and came away with an 84-52 victory, advancing to face South Tama in the regional finals.
Alex Rath exploded for 24 points, seven rebounds(both team hights) in the victory, adding six assists to her credit, while Addison Rath had 16 points and Ali Butters had 14.
Emily Cayton dished out seven assists and had a team high four steals in the game.
Mid-Prairie led 19-10 after the first quarter, before extending that to a 39-24 lead at halftime.
The Hawks continued to add to the lead, with a 53-34 lead after three quarters, before a 31-point outburst in the fourth quarter led to the win.
Mid-Prairie?s regional final opponent, South Tama, sits at 12-11 on the season, after defeating Williamsburg in its regional semifinal.
South Tama will be hungry to get to the state tournament, with six seniors on its roster, led by 6-foot-2 Tieranny Keahna, who averages 12.2 points and 6.1 rebounds per game.
The game will be held at Oskaloosa High School on Saturday, with tipoff at 7 p.m.
