Mid-Prairie sweeps Clear Creek meet
The Mid-Prairie cross-country teams were the best on the course on Monday night, traveling to the Clear Creek-Amana meet.
The Golden Hawks won the boys? and girls? portions of the meet, sweeping the individual and team crowns on the night.

The Mid-Prairie cross-country teams were the best on the course on Monday night, traveling to the Clear Creek-Amana meet.
The Golden Hawks won the boys? and girls? portions of the meet, sweeping the individual and team crowns on the night.
The boys? team had the top-three individual competitors on the night, led by Peyton Miller, who posted a meet-winning time of 16:58.
Floyd Evans took second overall with a 17:07 and Zach Pettit finished the meet in third with a 17:12.
Quinn Schmidt also sneaked into the top 10 for the Golden Hawks, posting a seventh-place finish with a 17:42, while Andrew Schwartz picked up the final varsity score with an 18:09 to take 10th.
Brent Foster finished in 11th, posting a time of 18:10, while Miles Burrows took 29th with a 19:53.
The girls? team featured the top two runners in the field, with Anna Hostetler continuing her dominance, posting an 18:18 to win the meet, while her sister, Marie Hostetler, ran an 18:22 to finish in second place, more than 1:30 in front of the third-place finisher.
The next five Hawks finished in order, from seventh to 11th, as Abbagail Evans posted a 22:00, Greta Schmidt finished with a 22:25, Kessa Jones notched a 22:25, Abby Tornow posted a 22:33 and Kyleigh Graham notched a 22:39.
Mid-Prairie will run next at the Wellman Golf Course on Monday afternoon.
Columbus also went to the meet, and junior Jenessa Carpenter broke the school record for the 5-kilometer run, posting a 22:42, for the top female time in the newer distance.
The time was good for 12th-place overall to lead the girls? team, while Aubrey Duncan finished in 29th with a 25:38. Martha Garcia took 44th for the Wildcats, while Nayeli Martinez finished in 52nd.
On the boys? side, Columbus took fifth overall, led by Marc Estrada?s 27th-place finish with a 19:33. Hunter Humiston finished with a time of 20:00 for 31st, while Armando Quiroz took 41st with a 20:34.
Chepo Cardenas took 46th with a 20:54, while James Rivera (49th, 21:21), Erick Cantarerro (50th, 21:25) and Angel Madriz (58th, 22:01) rounded out the varsity squad.
