Mid-Prairie volleyball 4-1 in IC
Golden Hawks have now won 5 of last 6 games

IOWA CITY — The Mid-Prairie volleyball team was in Iowa City over the weekend for the Live Like Line volleyball tournament at Iowa City West. The Golden Hawks went 4-1.
Mid-Prairie had to battle tooth and nail for its first two wins. The Golden Hawks clawed past Ankeny in three sets, winning 26-24, 10-21, 15-12. Mid-Prairie then had a similar battle with Regina Catholic, taking it 21-15, 10-21, 15-12.
Jovi Evans finished with nine kills, 12 assists and 16 digs against Ankeny. Dakota Mitchell led the defense with 18 digs.
Against Regina, Callie Huber led the team with nine kills. Evans had eight kills, 15 assists and 11 digs, and Mitchell finished with 13 digs. Harper Pacha had three service aces.
Mid-Prairie rolled 25-22 and 25-19 against Cedar Rapids Prairie, thanks in part to 10 kills by Pacha. Evans once again filled the stat sheet with seven kills and 15 assists, and Huber had seven kills of her own.
Mid-Prairie fell in a heartbreaker against Dowling Catholic, losing 18-25, 25-23, 12-15. Evans had seven kills and 15 assists in that one, while Paige Safly tallied seven kills.
Mid-Prairie was able to take down Iowa City West 21-14, 21-15 in the Trojans’ home gym. It was Evans again who led the way, tallying nine kills and 12 assists. Pacha had nine kills, and Huber had seven. Mitchell led the way with 11 digs.
Mid-Prairie is now 12-3 on the season. The Golden Hawks play at Class 2A No. 15 Wilton (13-3) in a River Valley clash on Thursday night.
