Mid-Prairie wins twice

Mid-Prairie squeaked out two high school baseball victories recently, edging Bellevue 6-5 Monday and downing Williamsburg 9-8 Tuesday.
Brad Tornow sparked the River Valley Conference win at Bellevue with just six hits, one earned run and one walk allowed while setting down 10 on strikeouts in the complete-game performance. He went 2 for 3 with a triple at the plate. Cale Robertson was 2 for 3 with a double and three stolen bases.
The Golden Hawks put up three runs in the seventh inning against Williamsburg to win.
Monte Slabaugh got the win, throwing just eight pitches in his one inning of work. Ashton Bush threw four innings and went 2 for 3 at the plate.
The Hawks (11-7 overall, 8-4 RVC) host Benton Friday.
