Mid-Prairie wraps up season with banquet

It was a big season for the Mid-Prairie volleyball team, with the Hawks posting their best record in recent memory in 2015.
The Golden Hawks went 15-16 on the year, its most team wins in five years, and showed promise with victories over Durant and Monticello this season.
When all was said and done, the Hawks had one athlete named to the River Valley Conference first team, with freshman Jaedynn Evans posting a strong season to lead the Hawks.
Evans finished the season with a team-high 288 kills, averaging 3.27 kills per set on the year. She also was among the team leaders in digs, posting 264, and led the team in aces with 45.
The other Hawk named to an All-Conference team was senior Emily Cayton, who earned honorable mention in the River Valley South Division for her efforts this year.
Cayton was second on the team with 189 kills, and led the team with 279 digs for the season, while accounting for 33 aces with a 91.3 serving percentage.
Cayton is one of three seniors who will leave the team after this season, as fellow seniors Jazmyne Jones (149 kills, 43 blocks, 36 aces) and Ashley Hentrich (92.5 serving percentage, 71 digs) will also depart.
The Hawks handed out their ?Wall of Stats? awards at their banquet, with Clarice Murphy and Sami Miller each earning more than 300 assists individually. Murphy had 348 on the season, with Miller posting 343.
Evans earned a spot with more than 200 kills, while Cayton, Amanda Miller and Evans each recorded more than 200 digs.
Jones, Evans, Cayton and Ali Butters all posted more than 20 blocks on the season, while five Hawks finished the season serving at a rate better than 90 percent.
Mid-Prairie?s season ended in a five-set thriller at Mediapolis.
