Mid-Prairie wrestling team battles at Camanche, Sigourney

It was a busy couple of days for the Mid-Prairie wrestling team as they took part in a dual against Camanche and West Liberty Saturday, Jan. 21, and participated in a triangular with Sigourney-Keota, Montezuma and Pekin Monday, Jan. 23.

The Golden Hawks lost to Camanche 17-62 and fell to West Liberty 12-68. They also lost to Sigourney-Keota 21-27 before defeating Montezuma 38-22 and Pekin 46-24.

In Saturday?s action, Timothy Grepl (126) lost by fall in 0:20 to Nathin Malcom from Camanche.

David Murray (138) lost by fall in 1:09. Miles Burrows (145) lost by a 17-0 technical fall in 2:00 to Baylor Crigger.

Isaac Boucher (160) lost by fall in 0:59 to Jimmy Zhang. Cory Allen (182) lost by fall in 2:27 to Jack Damgaard. Jason Tew (220) lost by 4-2 in sudden victory to Kolby Snodgrass.

Dallas Miller (113) lost by fall in 0:54 to Christian Leary.

Brent Foster (152) won over Dawson Sally by a disqualification, Visouth Peterschmidt (195) and Tristan Novy (285) both won by forfeit.

Grepl was the first to see action against West Liberty where he lost by fall in 0:46 to Coy Ruess.

Duncan McCain (132) won by fall in 3:41 over Noah Bierman. Murray (138) lost by a 16-1 technical fall in 5:25 to Justis Dengler.

Burrows (145) lost by fall in 1:26 to Austin Beaver.

Foster (152) was pinned in 3:07 by Joe Kelly. Boucher lost by fall in 1:38 to AJ Lenz. Allen (182) lost by fall in 3:07 to Jackson Gingerich.

Peterschmidt (195) lost by a 5-1 decision to Bryce Esmoil. Tew (220) won by fall in 1:37 over Martinez Ramon. Novy (285) lost by fall in 1:51 to Andy Lopez and Miller (113) lost by fall in 1:41 to Talen Dengler.

Starting action against Sigourney-Keota first was Peterschmidt (182), who won by fall in 1:31 over Mac Conrad.

Cory Allen (195) lost by fall in 0:24 to Kaleb Reeves. Colton Allen (220) lost by fall in 1:45 to Cooper Greiner.

Novy (285) was pinned in 0:52 by Noah Boender. Levi Stultz (106) lost by fall in 0:47 to Mason Dye. Miller (113) lost by fall in 0:43 to Cale James.

Grepl (126) lost by a 9-2 decision to Dayne Fisher.

McCain won by a 12-5 decision over Nick Ives. Murray (138) was pinned in 2:57 by Zech Boender. Burrows (145) won by fall in 5:07 to Trent Hendricks.

Foster won by fall in 1:23 over Cian Borra and Boucher (170) lost by fall in 1:32.

Facing off first against Montezuma was Cory Allen (195), who lost by a 10-2 major decision to Jon Wedgewood.

Colton Allen (220) lost by a 5-1 decision to Hunter Foubert. Grepl (126) lost by a 4-0 decision to Ben Jorgensen.

Burrows (145) was pinned in 4:36 by Kale Latcham. Foster (152) lost by fall in 2:20. Boucher (170) won by a 17-12 decision over Chandler Carl and Peterschmidt (182) won by a 19-0 technical fall in 2:21 over Dustin Stoner.

Novy (285), Stultz (106), Miller (113), McCain (132) and Murray (138) each won by forfeit.

Boucher (170) was the first to take to the mat against Pekin, where he lost by an 11-3 major decision to Hunter Conger.

Peterschmidt (195) won by fall in 2:13 over Ethan Cooksey. Grepl (126) lost by a 13-1 major decision to Elijah Sieren.

McCain won by a 15-5 major decision over Zach Hammes. Murray (138) lost by a 14-0 major decision to Isaiah Wittrock.

Burrows (145) lost by fall in 3:52 to Drake Harbison while Foster (160) won over Keaton Baayen by fall in 2:00.

Cory Allen (182), Colton Allen (220), Novy (285), Stultz (106) and Miller (113) each won by forfeit.
