Mid-Prairie wrestling team takes fifth
The Mid-Prairie wrestling team took part in the Jeremy Fulk Classic Saturday, Dec. 3, in New London. The team finished in fifth place out of nine schools.

The Mid-Prairie wrestling team took part in the Jeremy Fulk Classic Saturday, Dec. 3, in New London. The team finished in fifth place out of nine schools.
Taking to the mats were Dallas Miller (113), Timothy Grepl (126), Miles Burrows (138), Beau Stutzman (138), David Murray (145), Brent Foster (152), Mason Hartley (152), Ethan Danner (170), Issac Boucher (170) Jose Juarez (182), Jacob Leonard (182), Colton Allen (195), Cory Allen (195) Visouth Peterschmidt (195), Jason Tew (220) and Tristan Novy (285).
Miller lost by fall to Cody Calvelage from Louisa-Muscatine in the quarterfinal round in 0:35. He lost the consolation semifinal round by fall to Alex Floryanovich from Clear Creek Amana JV in 1:08.
Grepl finished the day in eighth place. He had a bye in the championship round. He lost to Wayne Briggs from West Burlington/Notre Dame JV by fall in 0:29 in the quarterfinals. He lost the consolation round to Talon Munger from Oskaloosa by fall in 1:15.
Burrows finished in eighth place and scored two team points. He won the championship round by fall over Mason Roberts from Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont in 2:00. He lost the quarterfinals to Grant Jensen from Clear Creek Amana JV by fall in 3:06 and lost the consolation round by fall to Chase Hesseltine from WACO in 3:27.
Stutzman finished the day in eighth place. He won the championship round by fall over Jonathan Stubrud from Louisa-Muscatine in 3:26. In the quarterfinals, he was pinned by Alex Hanna from Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont) in 1:04 and lost the consolation round by fall in 1:35 to Cody Gunn from Oskaloosa.
Murray finished in third place and scored 15 team points. He had a bye in the championship round. He won by fall over Mitchell Trexel from West Burlington/Notre Dame JV in 1:36 in the quarterfinals. He lost by fall in 0:16 to Dakota Boyer from Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont in the semifinals. He won the third place match by pinning Tyler Stevenson from New London in 1:42.
Foster came in third place and scored 15 team points. He won the quarterfinals by fall in 3:04 over Mason Sorge from Iowa City West JV. He lost the semifinals to Joey Boyer from Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont by fall in 3:29 and took third place after pinning Adam Starkweather from Louisa-Muscatine in 2:33.
Hartley came in sixth place. He lost the quarterfinals by fall to Tucker Moore from West Burlington/Notre Dame JV in 0:53. He had a bye in the consolation semifinals and lost the fifth place match to Sorge by a 20-5 technical fall.
Danner lost the championship round by a 11-7 decision to Casey Hill from Oskaloosa.
Boucher ended the day in eighth place. He had a bye in the championship round. He lost the quarterfinals by fall to Dalton Griffiths from Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont in 0:21. He was pinned by Tim Ackles from WACO in 3:04 in the consolation round.
Juarez place fourth and scored 11 team points. He had a bye in the championship round. He won the quarterfinals by fall over Darin Hill from New London in 1:21. He lost the semifinals by fall to Hunter Connor from Louisa-Muscatine in 0:44 and lost the third place match to Austin Angle from Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont) by fall in 5:03.
Leonard lost the championship round to Jason Beebe from Oskaloosa in 1:08.
Allen placed second for the day. He won by fall over Dreyton Laveine from West Burlington/Notre Dame JV in 4:54 in the quarterfinals. He won the semifinals by fall over Jaxon Allen from New London in 1:54 and lost the first place match to Peterschmidt by fall in 1:12.
Allen place fifth for the day. He lost the quarterfinals by fall to Jared Henkel from Louisa-Muscatine in 0:17. He had a bye in the consolation semifinals and won the fifth place match by a 6-4 decision over Riley Miller from Oskaloosa.
Peterschmidt finished in first place and scored 24 team points. He had a bye in the quarterfinals. He won the semifinals by fall over Jared Henkel from Louisa-Muscatine in 0:34 and won the first-place match by pinning Allen in 1:12.
Tew finished in first place and scored 26 team points. He won the quarterfinals by pinning Kade McKinney from WACO in 2:29. He won the semifinals by fall over Brock Pelfrey from Iowa City West JV in 2:00 and won the first place match by fall in 2:28 over Caden VanHemert from Oskaloosa.
Novey placed eighth for the day. He had a bye in the championship round. He lost the quarterfinals by fall to Austin Van Amerongen in 0:17. He lost the consolation round by fall in 3:24 to Tyson Breuklander from Oskaloosa.
